DØDSFALL

DØDSFALL

Norway
Old-School Black Metal
DØDSFALL was formed in Nov/Dec of 2009 in Norway with the aim of spreading their negative emotions through raw, cold, old-school Black Metal. In January 2010, they recorded a 2-song demo called “Svarte Vinger.” Shortly after, they signed a record deal with the German label Obscure Abhorrence Productions. The founder and guitarist, ISHTAR, began recording the full-length album titled “Den Svarte Skogen” in March, and during the recording process, V-REX, known from the bands Aeternus, Ancient, and Arvas, joined as the vocalist. The album was released in May 2011 by Obscure Abhorrence Productions. In October 2011, after the debut album release, bassist GRAVE from Stockholm, Sweden (ex-Ondskap, Infuneral) joined the band. Subsequently, the band started working on material for a new album. In August 2012, they released their second album, entitled “Inn i Mørkets Kongedømme,” featuring 8 brand new tracks and mastered by Swedish producer Devo Andersson at Endarker Studio (Ragnarok, Marduk, Ofermod, The Legion). This album was also released by Obscure Abhorrence Productions. During the recording of the second album, the band decided to record more songs for a future EP. In September, some changes occurred in the lineup, and V-REX and GRAVE left the band due to personal reasons. However, in November, ADRAMELECH from the band Svarthaueg joined as the permanent vocalist. In February 2013, the band released a new EP titled “Kronet i Svart Eld,” featuring guest appearances by Devo Andersson (Marduk) playing Bass on one song, Necrosadist from Sorcery/Patronymicon on guest vocals for the same song entitled “I Skuggans Famn,” and satanic poetry for the song “Inn I Fjellets Dypeste Dyp” written by Fauk from Hordagaard. This EP was released by the Swedish label Unexploded Records. In March, the band entered Endarker Studio in Norrköping, Sweden, with producer Devo Andersson (Marduk) to record their new album titled “Djevelens Evangelie.” The album was released in June by the German label Obscure Abhorrence Productions. In September 2013, the band signed a record deal with Osmose Productions for 2 full-length albums. In December of the same year, the band performed live for the first time in Oslo, Norway. By February 2014, 7 new songs were written for a new album, which was scheduled to be recorded in Autumn. In October, after some live shows, the band entered Sunlight Studio in Sweden with legendary producer Tomas Skogsberg (Gorgoroth, Darkthrone, Old Man’s Child) to record their new opus called “Kaosmakt.” The mastering was done by Devo Andersson at Endarker Studio. For the drum session duties, the band recruited talented drummer J. Wallgren (VALKYRJA, OCTOBER TIDE). In November 2015, ADRAMELECH left the band, and the new single “Forakt for Livet” was released online. In January 2016, “Kaosmakt” was officially released on CD and LP. In March, the band performed at the Inferno Metal Festival in Oslo alongside Exodus and Gorguts. In January 2017, the “Helvetets Griftegård” CD compilation was released in Brazil and Mexico. In November, the band began writing new material for a new album. In July 2018, they filmed a video clip in support of the upcoming album. In August, DØDSFALL entered the Necromorbus studio with the producer Tore Stjerna to record the new album entitled ”Døden Skal Ikke Vente,” set to be released on January 25th, 2019. Stay tuned for the next chapter in their musical journey…
