MIASMES, formed in 2021 by G. on bass and vocals (former member of Ritualization, live musician for Antaeus), K. on guitar (former member of Como Muertos), and C. on drums, delivers old-school Black Metal, raw and dirty, with hints of Rock'n Roll in song structures. The lyrics are entirely written in French. In February 2023, Miasmes recorded their first album, "Répugnance," mixed and mastered at Drudenhaus Studio.
The album reflects this unsettling atmosphere with sounds reminiscent of the early days of black metal, evoking bands like DARKTHRONE. The classic verse-chorus format is abandoned in favor of technical instrumental parts and powerful drumming. The French-language vocals harken back to the golden era of French black metal from the 90s. MIASMES manages to combine brutality with well-crafted compositions, sometimes venturing into a groovy black 'n roll. "Répugnance" confirms the promise shown in their previous EP, "Vermines," hinting at a promising future for the band, with hopes of live performances in their goals.
